Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
This policy explains what the Unknot app ("the app") does with your information. The app is published by Andrej Gazi ("we", "us"), an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at privacy@unknot.page.
The short version
There are no accounts. Your plan, your sessions and your settings are stored only on your phone. We don't run analytics or advertising and we don't sell data. The only service the app talks to is RevenueCat, which handles subscriptions.
Stored on your phone only
- Your answers from setup: the body areas you chose, your goal, your experience level and how often you want to train.
- Your plan, the sessions you've done and how they felt, your routines, and your hold times.
- Your settings, such as reminders, sounds and appearance.
This information never leaves your device and we can't see it. Deleting the app deletes it.
Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
Payments go through Apple or Google; we never see your card or bank details. To check whether you have Premium, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives:
- a random identifier created by the app (not your name or email),
- your purchase history for this app: which subscription, when it started, renewals, cancellations and refunds,
- basic technical details: device type, operating system and app version, country or region, and IP address.
We use this only to unlock Premium, restore it on a new phone, and see overall subscription numbers. RevenueCat processes it on our behalf. Apple and Google handle payments under their own privacy policies.
Permissions
- Notifications: reminders are scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent to us.
- Photos (add only): used only when you choose to save a progress card. The app can't read your photos.
Spoken move names are produced by your phone's built-in voice.
Legal basis
Where data protection law such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process subscription data because we need it to provide the subscription you bought (performance of a contract) and to keep records the law requires.
How long we keep it
Subscription records are kept while you're a customer and for as long as tax and accounting law requires afterwards. Data on your phone is kept until you delete the app.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the subscription data we hold, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing privacy@unknot.page. Because there are no accounts, we may ask for your App Store or Google Play order ID so we can find your record. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
The app is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
